The little loaf that could...

I recently purchased Gennaro's Italian Bakery (review forthcoming), and have made a handful of recipes from it. Late Sunday night, something possessed me to attempt the treccia colorata, a braided dough made of three different flavors / colors: chocolate, orange zest and orange liqueur, saffron and walnut, and rum raisin.

I had some difficulty getting the dough to the right consistency, and kneading in the cocoa powder made the dough a little dry and overworked, but it is fantastic for toast and looks incredible. Would I spend another four hours attempting this? In all honesty, probably not.
